Description
This charming jar is hand thrown in cream stoneware clay with a background decoration in black. It has a little hand modelled bird on the lid.
The decoration is achieved using the traditional wax resist technique. This is where a design in liquid wax is applied to the raw surface of a pot and then colour applied over the whole piece. The wax burns away during the firing process, leaving an attractive soft focus image.
